Dr Wisam Ihsheish

MBBS, FRACS. Dr Ihsheish is a caring and compassionate surgeon who takes all necessary steps to educate his patients about their specific condition, and explain in relevant detail the surgical and non surgical options available to best manage their symptoms. Dr Ihsheish takes great care in making sure his patients receive the best care and skill in their surgery, and is a firm believer in close follow-up care after the surgery as a vital step in good functional recovery.

Dr Ihsheish has a wide range of interests and training is orthopaedic surgery, these include:

  • Joint replacement surgery (hip and knee replacement)
  • Arthroscopic surgery of the knee
  • Orthopaedic trauma surgery (bones, joints, ligaments, and tendons)
  • General orthopaedic surgery

Dr Rae

Dr Hamish Rae

BSc, MBBS, FRACS(Orth), FAOrthA. Dr Hamish Rae is an experienced orthopaedic shoulder and knee surgeon with expertise in shoulder and knee replacement, arthroscopic shoulder procedures including rotator cuff repair and stabilisations, knee arthroscopic procedures and ligament stabilisations, trauma procedures with particular expertise in fractures of the clavicle, humerus and elbow. After completing his orthopaedic training in Sydney, Dr Rae completed further fellowships in shoulder surgery in Sydney and complex knee arthroplasty and reconstruction in London, United Kingdom.  Dr Rae has international experience in advanced surgical techniques combined with innovative techniques in postsurgical pain management and early rehabilitation to ensure the best possible outcomes are achieved following surgery.  Dr Rae has surgical rights at the Goulburn Base Hospital and is available for consultation on 4823 0223.

 

 

Dr Jacob Kaplan

Dr Jacob Kaplan is a specialist orthopaedic surgeon. He is focused on the diagnosis and surgical treatment of disorders of the Knee, Foot & Ankle. He completed his orthopaedic training in NSW and then underwent subspecialty foot and ankle surgery training in Toronto, Canada.

Dr Kaplan performs all types of Knee, Foot & Ankle Surgery. He is particularly interested in Robotic knee & ankle replacement, the management of sporting injuries of the knee and ankle, minimally invasive foot deformity correction, tendon problems, the management of deformity, arthritis, and fractures.

Dr Kaplan is an active member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and the Australian Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. In addition, he is active in the Canadian and American foot and ankle surgery societies.

He operates at East Sydney Private Hospital, Kareena Private Hospital, St George Private Hospital.

Dr Jacob Kaplan is involved in international research in regard to the developing area of ankle replacement; and a member of orthopaedic outreach, providing orthopaedic care in the South Pacific.

Dr Andrew Leicester

MBBS FRACS FAOrthA

Dr Leicester’s predominant orthopaedic interest is knee and hip replacement surgery, having performed over 1000 medial pivot knee replacements and over 1000 anterior muscle-sparing approach hip replacements.

He also performs the following:

  • Knee sports surgery including ACL reconstruction
  • Hand surgery
  • Shoulder surgery including rotator cuff repair, instability surgery and shoulder replacement
  • Surgery of the foot and ankle
  • Trauma surgery

Dr Leicester also specialises in paediatric orthopaedics; much of this work comprising hip dysplasia, talipes and trauma such as fractures in children.

Surgery is carried out at Bowral District Hospital, Southern Highlands Private Hospital and Sydney Children’s Hospital.
