Dr Anthony Whelan

MB, BS, FRACP. Dr Whelan completed a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Sydney in 1979 and did his fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 1986. He is a respiratory specialist who has full time rights at the Goulburn Base Hospital. He is also a senior lecturer at the ANU rural clinical school at the Goulburn Base Hospital. Dr Whelan has been consulting at the Goulburn Specialist Centre for over 30 years. He is available for appointments on 4823 0249.

Dr Wickramasuriya

Dr Wickramasuriya is well known to the Goulburn community as she has been working as a VMO at the Goulburn Base Hospital for several years. Dr Wickramasuriya now offers private consulting rooms for the Goulburn Community. Doctor Wickramasuriya has interests in Sleep disorders and Respiratory; applying and practicing evidence-based principles in these areas. Doctor will also be available for urgent general Physcian consultations as well as follow up appointment for patients treated in hospital. She is available for consultation on 4823 0223.

Dr Kaithal Shahir

MBBS, MRCP UK, FRACP. Dr Shahir is a Consultant Physician who has been a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians since 2011. Dr Shahir is a VMO Physician at Goulburn Base Hospital, as well as Nepean/Blue mountains and Hawkesbury areas.

Dr Shahir has an extensive background in nephrology, hypertension and antihypertensive drug therapy. Dr Shahir will be happy to accept referrals in the following areas of his specialty, and also including referrals for General Physician consults.

Hypertension, including drug resistant hypertension and secondary hypertension and the investigation of secondary causes
Hypertension in pregnancy
Chronic kidney disease
Antihypertensive drug therapy including diuretics
Oedema
Abnormalities on urinalysis including proteinuria
Glomerulonephritis

Dr Ganesh Ramanathan

Dr Ganesh as he likes to be known, has recently gained his fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Dr Ganesh is a full time VMO Physician at Goulburn Base Hospital. Dr Ganesh has an extensive background in nephrology, hypertension and antihypertensive drug therapy. Dr Ganesh will be happy to accept referrals in these areas of his specialty, and also including referrals for General Physician consults. Dr Ganesh is also happy to accommodate patients with home visits including residential aged care facilities when required. He is available for consultation on 4823 0223.
